System Engineer - Amsterdam (Excellent Salary Package + 3 months
housing + relocation allowance)

This is an interesting opportunity for a system engineer to work with
state of the art leading edge open source technology in a large scale
environment.

You need solid understanding of general system administration with a
twist because most of your work involves changes in an automated
configuration system which roll out over clusters sizing from 10 to
1000 servers.
Depending on your experience, you can expect to be paid an excellently
wage. Because of special tax facilities for foreign employees (the so
called '30% knowledge workers tax reduction') you will retain a
substantial amount of gross income.

Responsibilities:
o Take part in the 24x7 on-call rota
o Ensure maximum availability and performance of the 3000+ server
infrastructure
o Server and service monitoring
o Optimize server & grid configuration
o Propose improvements to current setup
o Stay up-to-date with new technologies and developments

Requirements:

o At least 3 years of experience with at least one linux
distribution preferable multiple distributions
o You need to be comfortable in bash
o You need to be able to program in one of python, php or perl

You have solid hands-on experience with at least 3 of the technologies
listed below:

o Apache-httpd / nginx / lighttp / pound
o MySQL-innodb / MySQL-myisam / MySQLProxy
o Linux Virtual Server / keepalived / pirhana
o Nagios / Zabbix / Cacti / Ganglia / OpenNMS
